Alchemy is the magical chemistry of the world of Mythos. It concerns the crafting of materials and potion-making. "Ingredients" are for cooking- alchemists use reagents. This makes alchemy quite costly as a result, with some rare reagents being obtainable only through trade.
A good alchemist must be familiar with all of the schools of magic- otherwise they would not know what they were doing. It is also a difficult magic because it is reliant on factors such as the weather, the time of year, and the stars. Despite the intricacies, alchemists are no stranger to experimenting.
Students of alchemy engage in a rigorous curriculum. They must have a foundation of astrology, which alchemy is reliant upon. Then, they must have an understanding of each of the schools of magic. No one would trust a mad scientist to create an Elixir of Life without any side effects, after all. Alchemists who specialize in healing are known as Apothecarians.
Natural samples from creatures, plants, and the earth. Reagents can be transformed into other substances through the process of transmutation. In order to be mixed into potions, reagents must first be processed into tinctures.
